Creating A Daily Class Web Site

I have found it helpful to create a daily class Web site that outlines what the class is going to be doing that day.  This site has the same URL everyday  and students know to go to this site at the beginning of every class. I also include important links on the page.  This allows the class to work together more smoothly.   Providing links for students saves a tremendous amount of time.

If you have never created a list of links for your students, don’t worry it’s easy.  When I first started, I used Yahoo! Geocities.  Even the most inexperienced Web user can easily create a list of links using this site.  The learning curve is probably three hours; try it.

The daily Site I have created for our Country Comparison Lesson includes links to a site that introduces the Comparative and Superlative as well as tests students’ understanding of the concepts.  It also includes a link to the ABC News Country Profiles site.  I always like to start off my class by discussing the news of the day.  Frequently this includes typing in an URL and going to a news Web site.   The last item on the agenda for the day is independent work.  Students who move at a  faster pace can work on their independent projects while other students are completing required tasks.

Let’s take a look at the daily class site associated with our Country Comparison Lesson.  Please use your browser’s back button to return to this page.
